June 2019- Our major event of the year, the South West Economic Forum will be on Thursday, 10th October 2019. This year's host will be Rebecca Stephens, the former Deputy Editor of the FT and the first women to climb Mt Everest. More details to follow.

March 2019- Marketing West picks up red hot account: We have been appointed to handle all media planning and buying for the highly successful Cheese and Chilli Festivals. These festivals, run by Dorchester based 33rd Management Ltd, take place each summer across the south of England.
This year’s festivals are in Bedford, Christchurch, Maidenhead, Guildford, Cheltenham, Swindon and Winchester.
Said Nigel Reeve of Marketing West; “Our job is to build awareness of the festivals, while making sure the events attract more and more customers. The festivals are real family days out. Our job is to make sure everyone in each catchment area is aware of the events and hopefully comes along.”
January 2019-Environmentalists draw in the crowds: Our latest business networking breakfast, held at the end of January, focusing on 'Making Businesses Greener', pulled in a large number of businesses and created significant interest.
The breakfast, organised in conjunction with the Bridport Chamber of Commerce, invited two leading experts to give advice on what businesses could do to save waste. Leading author Julia Hailes MBE talked about the issues we all face, while environment designer Connor Bryant explained how businesses can reduce waste.
Said our own Nigel Reeve of Marketing West: "They helped dispel a number of myths, making us think more about what we are doing. For example, using paper bags instead of plastic seems to be a great idea, but the weight of the paper is six times more than plastic, which means heavier lorries to transport it. On the surface, it's a good idea but the extra weight could be more of a threat to the environment than the plastic. We need to change our entire thinking with a clearer overview rather than just move the problem around."

October 2018: We are part of aUK panel that supplies regional marketing trends across the UK. The Bellwether report comes out quarterly and the latest results are just out.
The current market is showing that internet marketing continues to grow, but during the uncertainty with Brexit, marketing budgets are turning to the established media to run alongside it. The feeling is the established media can be used to build brands. Direct Mail and Established Media have seen budgets upped by 11.8% and 7.7% respectively while PR is seeing positive trends.
It will be interesting to see how this settles down once Brexit is finally sorted.
September 2018: Delighted to announce, for the second year, we are organising the South West Economic Forum. Over 130 expected at Chief Exec/Director level. The speakers include Paddy Ashdown, Tej Parikh (Senior Economist at the IOD), Robin Daniels (Chief Executive of the South West Business Council), Reg Hankey (Chief Executive of Pittards Plc) and Professor Jens Holscher (Head of the Economics Dept at Bournemouth University).
September 2018: Our friends at Dorset Mind are boosting their presence in the Sherborne area and we are part of the team helping them. They are holding a launch event between 18.30 and 20.00 on Tuesday, 9th October. Come along and meet the Dorset Mind team. The venue is the Digby Memorial Hall in Digby Road, Sherborne. Canapes and drinks will be served. There's no charge and all you have to do is email email@example.com to book a place.
September 2018: Just launched a new website for the charity Horseshoes and Handprints. A great cause. The site is still being developed, but we are delighted to help in any way we can. www.horseshoesandhandprints.org
Friday, 31st August 2018: We are helping organise three major events over the next few months. The first is a charity auction on Saturday, 6th October at Groves Nurseries, raising funds for Julia's House. Then on Thursday 11th October, it's the South West Economic Forum 2018, with 130 business leaders at the George Albert Hotel. Then in November, we are working with IT Support 365 raising funds for the charity People First. Watch this space for more information about each one.
